Another road trip, another destination! North, instead of south this time. I team up again with Hans and with the addition of two great friends; Lulu and Chey. And this time it’s not our physical endurance that will be tested, instead it is an epic struggle between Time and Ambition! Supposedly it is one of the most beautiful one-day hikes in New Zealand and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing can be a true challenge of your inner youth. Today is the big day! We gaan het ijs op! Tenminste dat is het plan. Wanneer we wakker worden regent het verdomme nog steeds. Regen op je vakantie is niet cool! It f*cks things up. Maar we hebben maar twee weken in New Zealand, en vandaag is de dag dat het moet gaan gebeuren.

Around the World 2009! Hoofdstuk 3: Roadtrip! (Updated)

Om 08:00 staan we met al onze tassen bij de check-out balie van ons hotel in Vegas. Ik betaal nog even de extra onkosten waarna we vervolgens de bagage en boodschappen in de Blauwe Muis laden. De roadtrip door het wilde westen kan beginnen! Tom(tom) en Cruise(control) nemen meteen maar het stuur over terwijl wij de radio een tandje hoger zetten. Met de muziek krijgen we echt een roadtrip gevoel, het zou zo een scene uit de film ‘Roadtrip’ kunnen zijn. Binnen een uur ligt Vegas al ver achter ons, en rijden nu door het ruige land van Nevada.
